Li-2 cargo/passenger utility and light bomber aircrafts were part of the Soviet Long-Range Air Force, which provided air support to the SNU. Between 4 September and 24 October 1944, there were a total of 1,199 take-offs, of which about 682 were successful. In the course of these flights a total of up to 2,000 persons and 639.1 tons of material were transported to the insurgent territory.

The aircraft is located directly by the entrance to the area of the Memorial of the Slovak National Uprising.
