70th Anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising
The present-day character of the museum and the forms of its activity are the result of a recurrent and fierce struggle for its existence and for its proper place in cultural society. Moreover, it is the result of the dedicated work of passionate museologists, archivists, and historians. Today, the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising is a dynamically developing institution with the aim of constant development, which has an irreplaceable position in the contemporary Slovak cultural society. The interest in the museum and its products is gradually growing not only among the Slovak society but among foreigners as well. A good example of this are the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, of which the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising was the main organiser. The celebrations of the anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, which was undoubtedly the most significant armed uprising in our history, are organised by the museum in such a way as to inspire pride in our ancestors’ standing in the anti-fascist struggle and its undeniable moral legacy for present-day society. The Museum of the Slovak National Uprising directs this message mainly to the young generation.
