The Museum of the SNU carries out scientific research activities with the aim of acquiring collection objects, scientifically examining them, researching the procedures of their professional treatment and bringing new knowledge about the studied period of our society and thus expanding the museum’s educational system. The museum’s historians work on more than 30 scientific research projects. These projects concern the history of Slovak society in the years 1938-1945, with an emphasis on the documentation of the anti-fascist resistance, the national liberation struggle and the Slovak National Uprising, as an important part of the European anti-fascist resistance in the years of the Second World War; the documentation of the post-war trials, the rehabilitation of the insurgents and the contemporary manifestations of neo-fascism, racial hatred and intolerance, as part of the cultural heritage.
